Sabrina Vonderhaar, LMHC, IADC
An Addiction Specialist Who Understands High Achievement
You didn't get to where you are by being passive. You are used to solving complex problems, managing high-stakes situations, and being the person others rely on.
But right now, you are navigating a contradiction: You are successful publicly, but privately, you are battling a habit or an anger issue that threatens to dismantle everything you’ve built.
You don’t need a "chat" and you don’t need a friend. You need a strategist.
I established this practice to provide a confidential, tactical space for professionals who need to get back in control without "therapist fluff" or judgment.
My Philosophy: Pragmatic Authority
I view therapy as a strategic partnership, not an open-ended conversation.
If you are skeptical of therapy because you fear it will be vague, endless, or overly emotional, you are in the right place. My approach is direct, efficient, and results-oriented.
I am not here to just "listen." I am here to be a clinical guide who helps you take decisive action.
We focus on the "How," not just the "Why." While we will identify the root causes, our primary focus is building the practical tools you need to manage triggers and protect your career.
I respect your time. My goal is to help you solve the problem and get back to your life—typically within 3–6 months—not keep you in therapy for years.
Why I Am The Right Guide For You
The Forensic Difference: I earned my Master of Arts in Forensic Mental Health Counseling and an Advanced Certification in Victimology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
Why does this matter to you? Because I am trained to understand risk, high-stakes environments, and the legal ramifications of behavior. I am not intimidated by "heavy" stories, and I understand the pressure of maintaining a reputation in a scrutiny-heavy career. You can be honest here without fear of shocking me.
Professional Standing: I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (IADC). I am actively involved in the National Association for Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC) and serve on the LGBTQIA+ committee. I stay at the forefront of addiction science so you don't have to.
Beyond The Session
I understand the need to "switch off" a busy brain. When I am not in session, I find relaxation in gaming, traveling, and attending live concerts. I understand that high-performance people need high-engagement ways to decompress.
Stop Waiting for the Other Shoe to Drop
You are used to handling everything on your own, but this is one area where expert consulting yields a high return on investment.
If you are ready to do the work, I am ready to help you execute the plan.
