Clinical & Court Evaluations for Iowa Professionals
Objective. Efficient. Forensic-Level Precision.
Professional assessments for legal, employment, and licensing requirements.
Forensic Expertise: Conducted by a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a Master’s in Forensic Mental Health.
Impartial Reporting: Objective clinical data that stands up to scrutiny.
Strict Privacy: Your evaluation stays between you, me, and the authorized requesting party.
High-Stakes Situations Require High-Level Expertise
When you are navigating a legal case, an HR investigation, or a board requirement, the quality of your clinical evaluation matters. A vague or poorly written report can cause delays, confusion, or negative outcomes in your case.
I provide specialized, impartial assessments for:
Defense Attorneys & Legal Counsel: Who need a clear clinical picture of their client’s mental health or substance use status.
HR Departments & Employers: Who require a "Return to Duty" or "Fitness for Duty" assessment following an incident (excluding DOT).
Professional Licensing Boards: For professionals (nurses, doctors, lawyers) proactively addressing substance or anger concerns to protect their license.
Note on Regulatory Compliance: Per Iowa regulations, I do not conduct OWI/DUI evaluations for the Department of Transportation (DOT). If you need a DOT-specific evaluation to regain your driver's license, please contact a state-designated provider.
Types of Evaluations Offered
Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Evaluation
A comprehensive clinical interview to determine the presence or severity of a substance use disorder.
The Process: We review your history of use, the impact on your functioning, and your current clinical status.
The Outcome: A professional report outlining the diagnosis (if any) and clinical recommendations for treatment or education.
Anger Management Evaluation
Often required following a workplace conflict or domestic incident.
The Process: We assess your emotional regulation skills, trigger patterns, and risk factors.
The Outcome: An objective determination of whether an Anger Management course or ongoing therapy is clinically indicated.
Why Work With a Forensic Specialist?
I hold a Master of Arts in Forensic Mental Health Counseling and an Advanced Certification in Victimology. Unlike a generalist therapist, I understand the intersection of mental health and the legal system. I know how to write reports that are:
Clinically Accurate: Using standardized diagnostic criteria (DSM-5-TR).
Legally Robust: Objective, fact-based, and free of "therapist fluff" that can undermine credibility in court.
Efficient: Delivered within a professional timeline so your case can move forward.
Logistics & Investment
We value efficiency. Here is how the process works:
Direct Booking: You (or your client) schedule the "Evaluation Intake" via my secure portal. No pre-consultation is required.
The Assessment (90 Minutes): A structured clinical interview to gather data, history, and context.
The Report: I compile the findings into a formal document. Standard turnaround is 5-7 business days following the receipt of all necessary information.
Fee Structure
Clinical Evaluation Session (90 Minutes): $300.
Report Writing & Documentation: Fees for report generation vary based on the complexity and length of the required document. This will be discussed and agreed upon during the intake.
Note: I do not bill insurance for evaluations. Payment is due at the time of service.
Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, with limits. Standard confidentiality applies, meaning I cannot share your information without your permission. However, if you are requesting this evaluation for a third party (lawyer, employer, court), you must sign a Release of Information (ROI) authorizing me to send the report to them.
Strategic Note: We will discuss exactly what is included in the report before it is sent, so there are no surprises.
-
No. As a licensed clinician, my ethical duty is to provide an objective assessment based on the data. I cannot "write off" a diagnosis if the clinical criteria are met. However, I frame all findings with context and professionalism, focusing on clinical needs rather than judgment.
-
No. I do not perform specialized Child Custody Evaluations. I can provide a clinical assessment of an individual parent’s mental health or substance use status, but I do not make recommendations regarding custody schedules or parenting time.
